The MP-RTIP project is developing a modular active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar system , scalable applied to different types of aircraft , especially the Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicles and the Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS) Raytheon Space Airborne Systems sector is the main subcontractor for the MP-RTIP project , responsible for hardware development of the radar system .

MP-RTIP system being produced based on the Northrop Grumman previously developed radar technologies, including the Air Force E -8 Joint STARS aircraft and the existing Global Hawk radar
